Love my AB's. I have only had them for a few months but so far so good.
This selfportrait was taken using a 800 AB for the background with a blue gel and a 400 AB in a softbox for the main light and Vivitar 283 in an unbrella for a fill.
I would suggest using only the 800 or 1600 for gels.
Every time I setup the AB's the kids and wife escape the house so I had to resort to testing on my self.
