I've also seen a couple people use a sheet of plexiglass over the paper. It's more expensive, the reflection is "harder", but I would think it would work on colored paper.

I'm going to try your way though. I use white muslin rather than paper, only because I don't have a good spot to store the roll, but the wrinkles on the floor give me fits.
