Here's a photo taken by someone else and posted on pbase.com showing the very lovely shallow depth of field possible with the Nikon D70/Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8 combo.
Scary stories about smaller 1.5 FOV crop factors and stretched out CoC curves aside, I can
definitely live with this sort of DOF!

Oh, my D70 arrived today... I'm committed to having the
very first shot be an actual model, (who I already have picked out and has never modeled before), so no piccies here right away - lotta manual reading to do first!
