I know how you feel. I was wiped out after a day with a 500mm f4 lens. The thing is no less than 16 inches long and weighs about 6 pounds. Now I primarily use the 70-200mm f2.8 and am so used to shooting with it that I don't use a pod of any kind unless I really want super stability or am shooting slow shutter speeds. Fun, fun!
