I just got a Nikon Coolscan IV and I'm wondering if anyone has any good resources or tutorials for the software. I don't like it at all it's not very intuitive. Mainly what I'm doing is scanning tons of old family photos so getting every single one perfect is not the goal but doing it in a time effective manner is. Are there any good resources that explain the software and the best way to go about large batch scans with reasonable quality? The way it seems to work by default is one scan at a time and it then opens up a full size version of the scan which you manually have to save. Is there a way to get it to just dump the completed scans in a directory of your choice automatically without having to save them? The digital ICE is great but it takes FOREVER - is this normal?
