Hi Andy,

I downloaded the Vuescan software and tried the program. It seems full of features and functionality but it didn't have the Digital ICE feature that I really like with my LS-2000. I was just hired to scan about 50 slides for a guy and I'm finding that the only way I am really getting relatively acceptable results is to scan them in at a file size of 50 MB and my resolution set to 2700 dpi. The down side to that is it takes so damn long for one single scan. It takes 15 minutes per slide and then more time to crop, balance, save, and burn to CD. My client only requires 16 MB file size but I can't seem to get the settings right to give me results I like and feel comfortable charging for. It just shouldn't be this complicated or maybe I'm just stupid where it concerns scanning. I just got Photoshop CS and maybe that will help me to produce a more refined finished product but I should be able to get stellar results from this scanner based upon the work I've seen others produce with it. I'm beginning to wonder if something is wrong with my scanner as well.

Thanks for the link, Andy. I'll check it out and see what gives. Also, thanks again for the autographed calendar! It's a HUGE hit!

I hope you are having a good holiday season and I wish the best for you in the New Year!!! Take care.

Mike
