Wait.
Use the Nikon D-100 first, get used to it. You will have the 1.5 multiplier effect to get used to. Not to mention the all the variables of the camera.
One thing to remember is you are not just getting a camera....but a computer as well.
Then after a month of heavy use, IMHO you will be in a better position for decision making.
BTW your lense effectively becomes a 120-600mm. So you will be shooting at an even longer focal length for those shutters speeds than you mentioned. And yes the VR system is nice, a friend mine uses his to capture Atlanta ballet shots he was never able to get before.
