Hi all,
This horse has probably already been beaten to death but as I have been walking the town cleaning out garbage cans in order to save up for a 10D, I've been contemplating my lens selection. Yes, I know about the excellence of the name-brand lenses (like I use with my F100) but I also use Sigma professional lenses. I have been looking at the Tamron lenses lately but don't know how they compare with Sigma. They do seem to have a much smaller footprint for the same focal length but what about quality? My Sigma lenses have been absolutely outstanding and I have no problem buying more but I'm also looking at size as a factor. Since I'm selling all of my Nikon equipment and going with Canon, I'm just curious about which lens manufacturer to go with. My preference is genuine Canon lenses but until I can afford them, I'm having to opt for Sigma or Tamron. Any thoughts?
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
Mike
