It would probably be cheaper to hire a local professional photographer than to ship a digital camera round trip internationally and insure it. Or like someone said below, just pass out throw-away cameras. People already know how to use them, the film can be processed anywhere, and then sent back to HQ for scanning. New technology isn't always the answer.
