Dave when I was getting my BFA in Graphic design we would always create new labels and paste them over a product. Sometimes you could use acetone and remove some screened images as long as you didn't let it stay on too long on plastic items. Creating an a label in PS or illustrator you can pri nt on transparent film and od cut and pastes over the de-nuded product. Haven't tried anything like this in a while but labels printed on transparent film would seem to be the best bet.
