Here is what I did and I am not happy with the results.
1. I metered the sun light on a tree trunk. f16
2. Now to over power the sun I set my flash to f18
3. Then set my camera to f18 and took a shot. I shot it in the afternoon.
4. What I want to do is expose for the flash and have the background just a little darker. Here is what I ended up with.. I did it over and over with the same problem having the background way to dark and the tree to bright.
