From what I have been reading grids are used to direct light to the places you want it. Right ? Now some things I have read say you can use grids to keep light off the backdrop and light the models hair. I have also read that you need to light the backdrop to give the image depth. So what am I missing here ? Is it all based on the look you want in the image ?
