If you are doing available light photography you should be able to avoid the focus issues - they are mostly reported with bright light and warm temperatures, which are a long way from what I'd call "available light" circumstances

But yes, I'm hoping it's fixed soon, and that's it's a simple firmware fix. I'd really hate it to be something they have to fix in the repair shop, 'cause I don't want to lost it for a while.

The more I use it, the more I ponder what they are building into the 1Ds Mark III...
