Before you use anything that actually touches the sensor, I suggest you get a high power BULB blower (I think I have one called the Rocket) and use it to really clean the sensor. If your camera doesn't have a way to lock up the mirror, simply set it to bulb or several seconds and clean it that way.
Orient the camera so the opening to the body faces down.
You might find that this does the trick. Worked for me.

ps. Everything I have read says to avoid using the compressed cans of air for this purpose.
