It's just my personal preference, but if I can afford it, I rather buy the "name brand" equipment. In no way am I knoking sigma! I think that they make some awsome products, it's just that I would prefer to buy Canon.

On the 105 end, you can almost always get closer to something if you need to, but on the 24 end, you sometimes can't get further back. So the 24 is great for those times. Only you will be able to determine if you need more than 105. I rarely find that I do (my walk around lens is a 18-125 on 20D).
