I have a Canon EOS 20D as my primary camera and I am looking to upgrade my lenses but I have to do it within my budget which somewhat limits my choices.
I currently am using the Canon USM 28 - 105 MM F3.5 - 4.5 lense as my primary lense and I have been quite happy with it but I want to get an "L" lense. I would love to be able to get the new 24 - 70 MM F 2.8 "L" lense or the 28 - 70 MM F2.8 lense but I don't have the $1,500.00 necessary so I have to explore other options.
I have been looking at what I think is an older Canon "L" lense, the 28 - 80 MM F2.8 - 4.0 "L" lense and I am seeing it used for approx $600.00 which is in my price range.
I have a feeling this lense is an older one since I can't find it on Canon's site and I don't see it offered for sale new anywhere but a used lense is not unacceptable for me and if I can get a deal I am that much happier.
Does anyone out there have any experience with this lense that they can share with me? I certainly want to get a lense that is better than what I currently have so I want to get as much information about thsi lense before I spend my money so anything I can find on this lense is good. Thanks.
