I personally would look closely at the Alien Bees or White Lightnings. For the money you have to spend you can get a stunning system and with their vagbond battery power supply can use all of the equipment either in studio or remotely. Naturally you need light modifiers such as softboxes, reflectors, light stands, etc, but these can be added as needed.
