Shallow DOF is definately a concern, I'll be cranking up the watts for sure. With My 70-200 I have to get as close to the subject as minum focusing distance will allow and zoom to 200 to fill the screen with the tightest shot possible which is about 9" wide. Can I assume the 100 will capture anything between 1x1" to 9".
