Yea, I've done a few outdoor shoots and had a very hard time with exposing hightlights correctly. It doesn't have the range of a film camera, but is beautiful for studio work. Another unrelated point, I hear the medium format digital backs have increased the range beyond film's capability, just wish it didn't cost so much). Studio is mainly what I use it for, but it's disconcerting that I can't seem to get the same shots as with my film camera outdoor. Yes, the choice was either D100 or Fuji S2. I love Nikon gear, I've always been a Nikon guy. That was a major factor in my purchase. Although I see the Fuji S2 as not perfect, there's always a next generation, and I'm getting a LOT out of this generation. Good luck tweaking your S2. You'll be happy when it's done.
