No one will laugh at you for using a Hasselblad, except perhaps studio-bound shooters who use RBs and RZs.
For large format I use a 60's built Graflex (Crown Graphic). There's a Wollensak lens on mine. It's the only really hand held/portable large fomat system I know. I use it for the great polaroids to determine exposure, and with negative film.
Medium format: I use a non winder, non metered Hasselblad with 30 year old coated Zeiss glass. That and a Heidelberg drum scanner cannot be beat (except by my Graflex).
Small format 35mm: I use Nikon and Nikkor glass. Its usually loaded with Foma, Fujifilm or Ilford, Why Nikon? Because the build quality and the glass is second to none.
And, I am about to purchase a small format digital body - I have decided that I like the simplicity and philosophy of Fujifilm's digital bodies, and would be happy with an S2, but may get an S3 or the new model.
If I had to start again, I would consider Pentax and Olympus for the design principles, philosophy and glass. Up there with Nikon, no question.
Canons make some great camera bodies - I just never personally liked their feel in my hands.
