You may or may not need a receiver for each strobe. The best case scenario is that you only need one receiver. The other stobes could still be triggered optically. From time-to-time, I find myself in situations where not all of the strobes can reliably see each other, so wired or radio triggers are needed.

The AB RFT1RX receiver does not need batteries. It runs on AC power and sits in-line with the strobe's power cord.
