You can not compare CG artists to Herb Ritts ...Herb Ritts was a Photographer who shot Mamiya RZ67 series cameras and lenses and shot Film/slide media of Real moments in time unposed or posed that were turned into excellent silver and color prints... Even more impressive a photographer at least to me is Marc Hauser who was working for playboy shooting portraits at age 16 and was a working pro by the time he was 20...

Yes the CG artists who did these are rather good maybe even great...but thay are a different beast from a different world...

Just my opinion of course and there for only worth 2cents to me....

I really don't want to get into a brow beating of these works - These Cg artists are on the level of Herb Ritts at a very young age - not many photographers can say that in the fashion industry let alone glamour industry. And i am more than willing to give them credit where credit is due

- any photographer, even here at G1 - knows that if they could acheive the likes of say #1 - 2 or 4 - they'd be thrilled to death and considered and respected as quite the "pro" - photographer by everyone else here and many other photog sites.

The 3D artists that created the above photorealistic works and many others, earned the title, the belt - the crown as photorealistic 3D CG Artists - i have no problem letting them wear it or recognizing with out tearing or browbeating what they achieved. And they have been before many a jury judging panel that contain top photographers and top Cg Artists.

I agre you may or want to or could change this or that and make them even more life like and even better - as with many many photos - and if you're getting at human spirit or American Spirit jthat's missing immyD - well nothing i can do about that.

Some tribes in used to think if a photograph was taken of them it captured their sole and didn't want it taken - we all scoff at that and laugh and think the concept rediculous. As i'm sure Herb Ritts and these Cg artists are doing all the way to the bank.

As i hope to be doing one day...
