Don't know about the chain drives but sounds worth checking out.

I saw a PVC system that was releatively inexpensive to make - matter of fact there was sseveral designs for this and one if i remember correctly also had the ability to be dollied around. They were simple but effective holding up to three or four background rolls.

I think you meant the tinker toy system of pvc studio accessories. I don't have the link, either, but i did download it to a pfd doc. Pm or e-mail me, and I can get a copy of it to you.
