If you visit those digital camera forums, everyone was saying how they would kill to have the s3 sensor ( this one is better ) in a d200 body.. then fuji turns around does just that -with improvements- and now people are bitching LOL

Now, my deal is the price point.. they are known for pricing their cameras way higher, but also, the avg was higher... now that the avg price for a 10mp cam is $1k or less, i wonder how much more can they charge for this one... Im guessing $1800... Then again, the 5d is $3000+
My guess is that it will be 1900 to 2000 but we can only wait. Last time they suggested the S3 would be 2900+ and it was 2499. It will be another 6 months anyway and the reason I am not too excited is what you said, that it looks like everything you would want in a D200 right now but with no earth shattering excitement. I'll get one because I am a firm believer in image capture quality Fuji has delivered on time and time again but if they screw around and not get it out there, somebody else like Nikon will wow us with the D300 because there is nothing really wrong with the D200. It captures fine enough for the value.

Again, Fuji is in line with it's portrait and wedding photographers that care about shooting film like characteristics from the moment that you shoot it. No I am not talking about film is better than digital or digital is better than film scenerio.

Yes you can shoot anything raw, PP it to death or profile it and still get the same results but we don't have time to **** with image files. Fuji has recognized this. Dynamic range in the S3 was the key to the S3 by holding detail in white bridal gowns. If the noise reduction and the so called SR Pro sensoring works like they say it will then portrait photographers will have a reason to believe in the camera and upgrade.

Just because I am not too excited doesn't mean I am dissin' Fuji as I strongly believe what they do is right for me.
