The very beautiful and talented hailey came by my studio last evening to be my test subject as I setup about 8 different lighting configurations for headshots so I could find the one that I like best.
This particular image was shot with an Alien Bee octodome suspended above Hailey and a 48" photoflext reflector on a stand below her for clam shell style lighting. Let me know what you think. Also, if you have some other ideas on good headshot lighting I would love to hear them. I tried this method, replacing the reflector with a large photoflex soft box, an AB beauty dish replacing the octodome with the photoflex large soft box, shooting through panels with the panels between Hailey and me, shooting with the panels behind me, bouncing from the panels, using a medium photoflex soft box as a main and a large as a fill, using the large soft box as the main and a homemade panel as the fill.
