You may want to try a trick from the movie industry if there is enough light. If you have the shorter model closer to the camera and line them up properly it will appear they are together. With the right lens you can make her appear taller in comparison to the male model. The key will be to have enough depth of field to make sure they are both sharp and try and use a perspective to not give away all the ground between them.
