For models 9x12 is pretty much of a standard, but there is still reginal variation. In some smaller markets 8x10 is oftenl accepted.
For photographers, there is absolutely no stanmdard at all, esp in the commercial non net arena. I know of one guy who has 11x14 mounted and matted on fiberboard which he carries around in a rosewood case. I weighs a ton! I've know of others who use as small as 8x10 (or 12) in an inexpensive binder. My personal choice has been 11x14, bled to the edge, unmounted and in an inexpensive but new looking holder.
