I use the Manfrotto 3091 Super Boom on the Manfrotto 3071 wheeled stand. It's an 8 ft boom with an articulated head and controls on the other end. Using a head and pack system I have complete control of head movement and power without having to get to the head with a ladder. I don't have to worry about it falling on the model either. I do use a counterweight on the boom and a weight at the base of the stand.
These are imported into the US by Bogen. I bought mine on e-bay. They come up periodically.
