I have the 10D as my primary camera. I also have a EOS Elan and it seems very close to the 10D is capability. Of course, my RB67 is hard to beat, except the fact that it seems to way two tons, and I'm not as yound as I used to be.
I think any Canon EOS will work great. Keep in mind the 1.6 multiplier, though!
