I think this could be a lesson in how the intent can get lost on a reader. I actually wasn't accusing you of being arrogant or any of those things.
Don was offended by your original post, apparently because he missed the intent that you were making the post in a joking nature.

I posted to him that he did not know your intent, so he shouldn't jump to conclusions. You could have meant it several different ways (i.e. in jest, confident, cocky, arrogant).
I was actually trying to defend you (which I apparently didn't do very well, because you took it as an attack as well).
Like I said, just another lesson in webspeak, and how intent can easily get lost on the reader.
