Where I shoot, which is borrowed area, I have a red wall and then than the adjoining wall is covered with mirrors. So I'm constantly battling the reflective light. I normally cover the red wall with whatever backdrop I'm going to use and then drap My black seamless over the wall mirrors. If I use Black for BG than I drape one of my other darker Seamless cloth over the mirrors.
If and when I ever can afford a studio I would probably stay with Black walls and use backdrops for what ever shoot I need.
This only My opinion as I'm still learning this craft.
