It's not a question ofd being happy with sub-par equipment, but whether that equipment is sub-par or not. The question is also not whether OEM lenses are really better or are you just paying for a name. Anyone can go on and on about how good a $1500.00 lens is, but, if I don't have the money, I can't buy one. Economics professors argue that you have to make the choice based on the rate of return, the trouble is that you can't realistically estimate the rate of return without multiple trials of all the alternatives. As I said, it's pretty much a personal decision.
