I'm in the process of getting back into photography, this time doing it digitally, but I'm in the usual quandary of "which is better", specifically lenses. I most likely will be shooting Nikon Dsomething &/or Fuji S2/3's, but what about lenses? Granted, Nikkor (or camera mfgr. glass period) rules, but, are there acceptable alternatives - specifically Tokina or Sigma? I've read decent stuff in opinion forums on these brands, but those opinions were by "Joe User" and not a pro. Thoughts / feelings / opinions / examples would be greatly appreciated! I've been reading the posts here for a few weeks and have been impressed by this community. I hope to have something to contribute soon!
