My favorite light stands are made by Bogan's "Avenger" line.. they are called "Lazy Leg" stands...anyway, they run about $200 each, they have a wide footprint for stability, they are much more heavy duty than the ones that Paul Buff sells with his light kits.. but those are o.k. though.. My fav's have a leg design that allows one leg to extend outward, so it can be stable on a hill, or on stairs, or on a curb.....the light stays strait, rather than leaning.. I have often had them weighted down with 30lbs in counterballance weights when using them to anchor light panels.. They extend to 13 ft high..and are made with heavy duty hardware too...
