First there is no place for a sync cord attachment. What do I need to get my studio lights to fire

Nikon have the AS-15 hot shoe attachment available for about $20, if I remember correctly. Wein sells one that's in about the same price range. Either of those will attach your camera to the lights with a cord.

If you prefer the wireless route, for aboug $50 you can Ebay a cheapie trandsmitter/receiver combo that will fire your strobes wirelessly. Or, for a bit more, the Pocket Wizards and the others are out there as well.

The second and I'm not sure there is a fix short of sending tha camera back to Nikon. There is a 2 degree tilt in the finished product. Through the lens , it's square.

I'm not sure what you're saying, here. Do you mean that when you line something up and it's perfectly horizontal in your viewfinder, that in the image that's recorded the horizon is tilted 2 degrees? If so, my question is.. just how the hell did you measure 2 degrees, anyway?

White balance is a two-edged sword... it can work for you and ag'n you. Since I shoot RAW almost exclusively, I leave it set to AUTO and adjust the white balance as needed in CAPTURE.

The D100 is a good camera with limitations just like any other piece of electronic equipment. It takes a bit of effort at mastery - belive me, we feel your pain 'cause we've all been there. But, when you get a handle on it, you certainly can produce some nice images.
