Consider APC computer power packs! IMHO: Very good way to power strobes.
If you're not going to use much pilot light, the cheapest ones will fit your strobes. I recommend 500VA-1500VA models for 300WS-1000WS strobes.
I'm poor student, and I power my 250WS toys with the old 350VA APC (which is very lightweight)
Cons: Takes whole night for recharge (But it's hard to discharge them w.o. turning pilot light on)
