I'm a lab tech. Here is my advice.
First, use sRGB, not Adobe RGB.
Second, make minor adjustments, let the lab do their job.They know what to correct and how to for their printers. We are trained in color corrections. If you don't like how a lab prints, find another.
Third, take a print your lab made, and hold it up to your monitor to calibrate it.
Remember, your monitor isn't going to be calibrated to the lab's printer.
