So I ask again..."What dimensions are you resizing to?"
If they're web viewable (say 400x600 pixels), you should be able to set your JPG compression to 10 and you'll be just fine. Just run them through a batch process that resizes, sharpens, and saves. Shoot me a PM if you have questions about how this is done. I'll be happy to help.
