I don't know about the canon glass I use nikon in about the same range. 24-120 f/3.5-5.6 VR. cost is about the same. I primarly shoot weddings and senior portraits. I have found that it produces very good images. Yes you will get some who say that we both need faster glass. I agree. But right now the 24-120 is paying the bills and making it possible to purchase a faster lens.
