You currently have lenses which cover this focal length. If you upgrade, I would hold out for great lenses. Your lenses will be useful far longer than your camera body. I'm not that familiar with Canon lenses (Nikon for 30+ years), but the above lens seems a bit slow. I'd hold out for a f2.8 or faster constant aperature lens.
