I use the 28-135IS just about always when I shoot with my 10D. It is a great lens. I also had sigma glass, I wasn't impressed at all with it. I understand the L line is the best bet if you can swing it. Finding one new for $1000.00 or less will be a trick. Maybe on Ebay. Best of luck whatever you decide.
