Back in the day when shooting transparencies for photojournalism assignments, the right filter (and sometimes even an additional correcting gel over the face of an old Vivitar 283) meant the difference between coming back with the shot or the ****te! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
Granted, white balance and corrective filters are a bit of an apples and oranges comparison. But, at the end of the day, using either correctly makes a big difference between images that make you go "oooh" or "ewww!"
