We took a little photo-field trip with Kori Rae today... We being Kori, Rick (GG's DBA1), and myself. Our destination? El Mirage, California.
Rick showed up at 9:00 A.M. in his spiffy, crew-cab, dualie and we loaded up the equipment. A bit later, Kori showed up looking her beautiful self. By 10:30 or so we were on our way to El Mirage.
El Mirage is near Victorville, California, about 75 miles Northeast of my studio, in California's sweltering Antelope Valley. El Mirage is known for its dry lake bed: A sort-of mini-Bonneville Salt Flat. Rick had been out there many times as he's also a land/speed racer. I hadn't been out there in quite awhile since that time in my life when I used to work for an aerospace company that had me hanging out of chase planes with a camera shooting their latest remotely piloted air vehicles. This was Kori's first time to El Mirage.
Okay, I'm not going to write a travelogue. It was a great day spent shooting a beautiful and user-friendly model... what more can any of us ask for? Plus, this was great therapy for me: Until today, I hadn't gotten out of my studio to shoot anything outdoors for months and months.
Here's a few images that caught my eye. I've got plenty to go through as does Rick. I'll be posting more and I know Rick will post soon as well. Just thought I'd put a few up before going home, showering the desert dust and sand off my tired-ass body, and crawling into bed.
