The Kodak Wratten gel #90, is basically the same thing. Works fine for pre-visualizing B&W rendition in a color scene, with ambient light. (Obviously, any flash added, is sorta hard to see.)

It just allows you to see the tonal reflectance values, visually, so you can tell if the scene will render as you wish. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]
