I'm currently using the (very affordable) 50mm f/1.8.

While I've had fun and it has its charms, I'm ready to upgrade.

Having learned from the 50mm that it may be better to cough up the extra dough and get what will really do the job in the first place...

Is the difference between the 85mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.8 worth the (large) difference in price?

I'm already aware of the facts - same compression (same focal length), more options/faster shooting in lower light situations.

What I'm looking for is real-world feedback from Nikon shooters that have owned and used both.

Any noticeable difference in basic image quality between them?
Bokeh noticeably better on either one?
Contrast? Sharpness? Etc...

Hint: I'm looking for any solid excuse to get the f/1.4 over the f/1.8, but at the same time I'm itching to get something better than this 50mm NOW...
