I like the color much better. It utilizes the subtle differences between the subject and the background. It is a difficult photograph. The expression is direct and confrontational, while the body language is closed and protected. I think you may have the photographic equivalent of a dicotomy on your hands. The more I look at it, the more I think I just got caught doing something!! I think it is a great photo.
